Telangana government Chief Secretary SK Joshi on Monday instructed officials concerned to prepare an action plan for development of Old City. As per the directive of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Secretary held a high-level meeting with top officials of the various departments and reviewed progress in the preparation of action plan aiming to provide basic amenities in the hyderabad’s Old City.
He sought measures to construct new reservoirs to cater drinking water to needs of the people on permanent basis and lay new pipelines and take steps for system strengthening. The Chief Secretary said that a notification was issued to appoint a consultant to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) on drinking water supply in the Old City every day.
The officials informed that they are supplying 124 million gallons per day of drinking waters to the Old City every day and awaiting permission for a master plan prepared for sewerage lines in Karwan, Nampally segments.
The officials said that Rs 400 crore were spent for south Musi sewerage works and completed 5 km works. Made proposals for one kilometre out of 10.89 km nalas expansion for stormwater.
The Chief Secretary asked the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply and drinking water supply and other amenities. He also directed the officials to fill up teachers on reservation basis in Urdu medium schools and provide power supply in all schools before they opened.
To provide improved health facilities in the old city it was decided to open up Basthi Dawakhanas in 13 places and set up them in four places the officials said. The Chief Secretary asked to take immediate steps for land acquisition through inspection at Dabeerpura, Darul Shifa, Miralam, Hafeez Baba Nagar, Chandrayanagutta areas.
Prepare a plan of action for the same and steps for sub stations at Falaknuma, Toli Chowki, Chatrinaka, Malakpet and Karwan areas , he told officials. #KhabarLive
